about nl sketch (1)_edited.png

Newfoundland and Labrador is a province that has a deep, long-standing history of comedy. From shows like This Hour has 22 Minutes and Rising Tide’s Revue, well known groups such as Codco, Wonderful Grand Band, and Buddy Wasisname and the Other Fellers, to groups performing at Sketch Festivals all across North America, it’s no secret that the province continues to produce comedic creators, writers, and performers who leave their mark on a national level.

Embracing that rich history of comedy in Newfoundland and Labrador, a board of artists, comedians, and community members have come together to create the province's first Sketch Comedy Festival.

The festivals inaugural year was 2024 when the NLSF team welcomed groups from across the province, country, and even continent to come show audiences in Newfoundland and Labrador just how special sketch comedy is. The Festival was held at The Hub, located in the heart of St. John’s, and welcomed audiences, performers, and comedy fans to come laugh!
